Martina Sande Martíns

My name is Martina Sande Martíns, I am 16 years old and I am a Galician athlete with the recognition of the Xunta de Galicia at a high level in the wheelchair table tennis category. I am the youngest athlete competing at a national level, and representing the Spanish national team at an international level. I am contacting you with the aim of exploring a possible association between my sporting career and your brand, with which I share the fundamental value of “being yourself”. The slogan of El Pulpo, from the teenagers section, “Be your true self”, coincides with the way I approach my relationship with studies and sport: assuming that each person is different, and from my difference I propose to transform difficulties into the stimulus that drives me to face my challenges.

I was born with a rare health condition called Congenital Multiple Arthrogryposis, which affects my joints and the development of certain muscles, especially in the lower body. From a very young age, my health condition has influenced me not only to consider physical exercise as an important issue from a rehabilitation point of view, but also to introduce me to the world of sports, from basketball and swimming, to my current discipline, wheelchair table tennis. In this sport, in which I train intensely on a daily basis, I have already achieved important results, such as first place in the State Championship, being the first woman to win this championship, and participation in international opens, such as the one that will soon be held in Versailles, France, at the Para FrenchOpen from October 28 to 30, 2024. I dream of reaching even greater goals: the Paralympics.

Beyond my personal ambition to achieve sporting excellence, I am driven by something even greater: the desire to inspire others and promote inclusion. With your support, I could not only continue to pursue my sporting goals, but together we could send a powerful message about the importance of inclusion through sport.
